Desert Mountain Urn
Desert Mountain Urn
Death has been on the mind lately. This quote from the Poisonwood Bible, has embedded itself in my psyche: "To live is to change, to die one hundred deaths"
The older I get, the more I realize, every one of us carries some burden of grief. Death rituals are a distinct marker of our civilization, and I find the anthropological studies fascinating.
We watch the inevitable cycle of growth and decay all around us in the natural world, and yet it doesn't make it any less excruciating.
So, how do we lay down to rest our loved ones, our past selves, our unrealized hopes that may not come to be? Because the burden is heavy. But you don't have to carry it alone.
Whether it is ashes or artifacts of your life, I made this vessel to hold what you cherish.
Honestly tho, use it how you please, if its a cookie jar to you, that's cool, too. I also cherish cookies.
