about the artist

Hi, I’m Sarah. It’s nice to meet you.
Born from a decade-long dream of having my own studio, I started MADE IN CHOSS in 2023 out of my garage. I was introduced to the beauty of pottery by my high school teacher, Rob Flye, and after years in corporate life left me unfulfilled and unwell, pottery became my way back to peace, grounding, and joy.
Each piece I create embodies the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi. I celebrate the quiet beauty of imperfection, impermanence, and the raw, ever-changing essence of nature. My work is meant to capture the bold spirit of adventure in art for everyday use: a daily reminder that true beauty lives in the imperfect details of life, and that we are all works in progress.
In the studio, I find joy in simple pleasures: working with my hands, barefoot in the sunlight, alongside my two cats, Suki and Sokka. Outside the studio, I draw inspiration from the natural world. Whether rock climbing, foraging for mushrooms, or catching waves, the rhythms of earth and elements shape the spirit of my art.
